What customers truly worry about isn’t short product lifespan, but rather unexpected failures causing downtime, efficiency drops, and cost increases due to replacement parts. We can shift our perspective: bucket teeth can wear down reasonably or even fail locally, but they must never fail suddenly—let alone take the adapter with them.
We have redesigned the bucket teeth by incorporating principles of bionics. Based on usage requirements, we have enhanced the characteristics of different stress-bearing areas of the bucket teeth—such as the tips, the middle section, and the area near the adapter—as well as the distinct demands for hardness, impact resistance, toughness, and other properties on both the surface and interior of the bucket teeth. Following our redesign, this allows for the maximum dispersion of instantaneous impact loads, thereby preventing overall tearing.
We also designed flow channels in non-core areas to reduce localized stress concentrations, resulting in a tear strength improvement of at least 30%.
Our philosophy is to ensure bucket teeth complete their lifecycle at minimal cost under extreme operating conditions when handling large chunks of ore at LW.
